It doesn’t offer a V8, just a twin-turbo V6, so the top price is closer to $60K. It also comes in 4-door form, starting at around $33.5K. The excellent Ford Bronco is the newest rival to the Wrangler. The Rubicon is just the Rubicon at $44K, but the range-topping 4-door Wrangler is the Rubicon 392 with a V8 engine and an MSRP of $74,800.Īdding a bunch of options, including the Xtreme Recon package ($3,995), can push the final price of a Rubicon 392 to about $83K.
Next comes the Sahara, from about $40.5K, with Altitude and High Altitude sub-trims. Also under the Sport umbrella are the Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, and Altitude. There are something like 10 variants, not including the right-hand-drive Sport, which appeals to some fleet buyers.

Sport is the first trim of the 2022 Wrangler 4-Door range, with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $33,225, plus a destination charge, which goes up to $1,595 this year. The Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV is reviewed separately. Old habits die hard, however, so we’ll still call it the Unlimited, since that’s how most people think of it. But Jeep has taken to calling it the Wrangler 4-Door, with the OG model now called the Wrangler 2-Door ( reviewed separately). For years, this vehicle has been called the Unlimited to differentiate it from the original smaller Wrangler. There’s a bit of wrangling about the name. The Wrangler Unlimited opens that community up to more people. This is a particular extra that isn’t mentioned in the specifications - a Wrangler brings its owners into a community. The Wrangler is part of the midsize SUV landscape and often part of the literal landscape in places like California’s Rubicon Trail (giving a name to one Wrangler variant) or Moab, Utah, where Jeep owners meet every year. In true Jeep fashion, it’s also adept on sand, in mud, and over snow. And when we say rock, we mean actual boulders and stuff, as opposed to any music styles.
